HKS PS3 Controller

I'm usually pretty skeptical of any gaming peripherals, because they rarely bring any significant improvement to the gaming experience. In my opinion such gimmicks are used to lure many causal game players into thinking that the peripherals will magically make them a better player or even the odds;none could be further from truth. Well there is always an exception to the rule, and this case the HKS PS3 Controller is worthy of such a title. I initially ran across this gaming controller at my local Game Stop. I immediately pulled out my android phone and proceed to do an on the spot Google review. Typically a quick Google look up will render a fast superficial review and comments on the peripheral in question.Hence determining if I want to even consider a longer query into the matter. To my surprise the reviews were quite promising, so I decided buy the controller and test it out on Gran Turismo 5.
I'm generation x gamer so playstation analog controllers are my choice of controller when it comes to driving games. I loathe using the triggers for acceleration and deceleration.Triggers don't allow the dexterity of control that I'm used too. I know many are quite capable of using triggers in driving games. There is a big difference between driving sims and arcade style driving games. Driving Sims like Gran turismo truly shine when played with a forced feed back steering wheels, with that said biggest disadvantage of using analog controllers is braking. Depress the x button will not really yield very accurate braking results. Forced feed back steering-wheels with additional gas and brake pedals eliminate this handicap completely. If you hadn't notice that the HKS Controller is equipped with triggers for the acceleration and deceleration in place of the typical square and x button. Now having stated my loathe for trigger style controller;I had no problem with the triggers being used in place of the reagular buttons. This setup brings one of many advantages of the forced feed back wheel to the controller. I abosultey love this controller and had very little getting used to it. Now the analog steering wheel is ok but I found my self using the analog stick instead. For the those who prefer using triggers instead there is a switch located on the back of the controller to switch to a trigger style of game play. Anyway give this HKS Controller a try and let me know how it works out for you.
